The goal of this site is to teach what I believe is the best way to practice and perfect the golf swing. My approach to the swing is based on three equally important concepts.
Science Based
It is incredibly easy to be enticed by a teaching professional who says there is a new and magical way to swing the golf club. Balls have changed; clubs have changed; but the science behind the golf swing has not and will not change. This site utilizes both biomechanics and physics - two fixtures of science - to create a powerful, accurate, and repeatable swing.
Efficient
When I first started playing golf I thought that it took two or three hundred golf balls a day to be good. Once my teacher introduced me to video I quickly realized that practice does not make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect. In order to master the swing quickly, your practice sessions should involve monitoring very specific parts of your swing on camera and then worrying about results later. It can be aggravating and even embarrassing at times but I found that in 20 to 30 balls I was making more progress than I was in a weeks worth of banging out balls. My hope is that these articles will be descriptive enough that you can identify those areas of concern and know how to fix them on your own. Essentially, teaching you to become your own teacher.
Unified
It is terribly aggravating when I hear golfers who are learning different swings for different clubs. Why do this? My site uses the same components for every club in the bag. With only a minor adjustment in stance width, you can use the exact same swing you would use with your driver as you would with your wedge. Consequently, when you are working on swing plane with your driver your results should translate to every club in your bag. Taking this approach you can dramatically cut down on the time and effort it takes to learn the game.
Before starting to work on your swing, you must learn how to set up your video camera and draw lines properly. Once you have done this, you can move on to mastering the eight components of a scientific, efficient, and unified golf swing.
